Restylane

Restylane is a hyaluronic acid filler made by Medicis Aesthetics, a specialty pharmaceutical company focusing primarily on aesthetic medicine. They also make Perlane, a very similar filler to Restylane with larger gel particles and meant to be injected deeper within the skin. They both add volume to your skin.

Restylane Injectable Procedure

When visiting The Langsdon Clinic for your Restylane treatment there is no need for a skin test since there is no risk of an allergic reaction. Our provider will select one or more injection sites and apply a topical anesthetic while determining how much Restylane will be used.

Ice may be used at the injection site for added an added numbing effect before an ultra-fine needle is used to inject the filler into your skin.

How Long Does Restylane Last?

The results achieved from getting Restylane injectable are almost immediately apparent. That said, the hyaluronic acid in Restylane injectable is absorbed by the body over time. The results of Restylane can last up to 12 months.

However, in most cases the results from Restylane injectable last closer to 6 months. When the results are no longer noticeable you can return for an additional treatment.

Recovery after Restylane Treatment

You’ll see some swelling that will last at least 2-3 days but you’ll be able to resume your normal routine/activities immediately. Avoiding direct sunlight is advised.
