What to Expect with Your Lip Implant Procedure
Perma Facial Implants™ increase lip volume for a lifetime, if so desired. Made of soft-solid silicone, they are durable without risk of rupture, or deflating. Customized results are possible due to a wide range of sizes.
Your lip implant procedure will be done under local anesthesia and is relatively routine. At each corner of your mouth an incision will be made so each lip can be enhanced. The lip implant is then inserted through one side, positioned, and centered, then closed with absorbable sutures. The procedure takes less than an hour with little discomfort.
Recovery for Lip Implant Procedure
Your lips might swell and be tender temporarily after lip implant surgery. You might even experience light bruising. Within a week any or all of these issues should be resolved.
Pain will be controlled through medication. No blood thinners like ibuprofen or aspirin should be used for two weeks before, and two weeks after surgery.
Within seven to ten days you should be fully recovered, and your new look in place.
Cost of Lip Implant Procedure
Permanent lip implants like Perma Facial Implants™ are more expensive than temporary fillers, but have better success, and could be less expensive in the long run. However, they enlarge only the pink part of the lip. Fillers might be indicated to enhance the lip roll or philtrum.
Choosing Your Lip Implant Plastic Surgeon
As with all surgeries, there are risks involved with lip implant surgery. There is no greater risk than choosing a doctor with little experience, or care for their patients. Your doctor should be board certified, and have an impeccable reputation within the local community, and the medical field.
